The 2009 Bilderberg-meeting was held 14.-17.5.2009 in Athens, Greece.[# , Infowars.com] Despite the press releases made by the Finnish government even the Finnish mass media failed to mention the fact, that prime minister Matti Vanhanen and minister of finance Jyrki Katainen took part of the meeting. Those few representatives of foreign press who went to cover the meeting was arrested even in multiple occasion. Total black out on the matter by the Finnish mass media is no surprise, as the media is mainly owned by Sanoma, who’s largest share holder is a Bilderberg-member.

Because there’s no confirmed list of participants we only know for sure, that Vanhanen and Katainen took part. There are some sources that point for two Finnish participants from the private sector. The simple reason for unconfirmed information is because the Bilderberg-group members swore to keep list of participants and issues secret. Assistant for the prime minister Matti Vanhanen comments on my questions about the prime ministers involvement: “The Bilderberg-meeting held last weekend, which prime minister Matti Vanhanen and minister of finance Jyrki Katainen took part of, are conversational in nature, where are no documents or no decision made. The hosts invite the participants.”

In 2007 I requested under the Finnish Freedom of Information Act all documents related to the Bilderberg from the President of Finland, to which current president Tarja Halonen replied: “By the request of President Martti Ahtisaari (previous president, Nobel peace price winner) I decide, that documents you requested are for the duty of the President’s absolute confidentiality to remain secret. Because of this your request is denied.” It is interesting to note, that the Bilderberg-meeting is not official, it has no documents, but still my request for documents is denied by the President and documents are declared secret. If the Bilderberg-meetings are not official and the participants of our country do not represent our country as officials, then how come can the documents be declared secret?

Also in 2007 I made several other FOIA requests for other public agencies in Finland regarding Bilderberg. I requested documents from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of the Interior, The Ministry of Trade and Industry and to the Bank of Finland. Only the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had a circular note from 1994, when the Bilderberg-meeting was in Finland at Kalastajatorppa, Helsinki. “The note has been used by international organizer to inform diplomatic institutions in Helsinki regarding the meeting” was commented from the information service of Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In 24.5.2009 I made an complaint to the Parliamentary Ombudsman about the Presidents claim, that she is not under the FOIA and that I cannot complain about her decision. Ombudsman Riitta-Leena Paunio decided on 22.6.2009, that Presidents claims are correct; President is not under the FOIA.

Finally let it be know, that there has been official questions about EU Commissioners being part of the Bilderberg-meetings. For example Jeffrey Titford asked on 31.7.2006 from the EU Commission did the Comission member Neelie Kroes participate the 2006 Bilderberg-meeting. Kroes replied, that she did participate as a member of the Comission, but not for the Commission. You can read the email exchange between me and assistant of Mr. Titford here.
